RUST/GREASE-FREE BELT DRIVE
Chains are the # 1 issue on bicycles. They get dirty, fall off, and they're at a perfect height for tweens to get grease on their favorite pants. Our rust-free and grease-free Gates Belt is cleaner, smoother, and doesn’t require maintenance. Also, it won’t snap off or break under the weight of a rider.
3-Speed Rear Hub
This is the same industry-leading Shimano hub that's featured on our adult models. The 3-speed internally geared hub carries the same range as a 7-speed cassette, in a cleaner, more efficient, ultra low-maintenance package.
Adjustable Stem
The Launchpad can grow with your ever growing tween/teen rider. The adjustable stem raises and lowers for comfort across a wide range of ages and sizes.
Stop on a Dime - Dual Handbrakes
Dual handbrake levers connected to smooth stopping v-brakes allow for a comfortable, confident ride.
Durability & Rust-Fighting
Bikes get left on lawns with sprinklers, tossed in the back of cars, dropped, and any number of other things that happen. The lightweight aluminum frame won’t rust, neither will the alloy wheels and stainless steel spokes. It’s a quality bike built to last long enough for sharing with siblings and friends.

It’s an awesome feeling when your kids are ready to ride with—and without— you. But road debris and sharp stones on bike paths can be a real bummer. Our puncture-resistant tires help protect against unwanted flats.
Mid-Step Frame
The mid-step frame design helps all riders easily mount and dismount the bicycle with an overall geometry that will accommodate the rider as they grow. This allows for much more flexibility over time.

Who fits on this bike?
The Launchpad is designed to fit riders between the age ~10 - 18. While bicycles target age and height, inseam will be the best determining factor for which bicycle is best for your child. As their riding confidence increases, so will their ability to ride bigger bicycles. They will move from a more flat-footed stopping position to their tiptoes, ultimately being able to slide forward off their seat at stopped positions.
How many speeds does the bicycle have?
The Launchpad features a Shimano 3-speed hub—the same hub we use on our adult recreational bicycles—offering a nice gear range with simple intuitive usage for climbing hills (gear 1), flat cruising (gear 2), and gaining speed (gear 3). It is equivalent to a 7-speed rear cassette but with far less hassle and much cleaner overall.
Can an adult ride this bike?
Yes! While this bicycle was primarily designed for teens and growing riders, shorter adults will find the Launchpad is a great platform. Please make sure you are with-in the height and weight limit before purchasing this bicycle.
